Did I mention that all the stuff that's happened so far was "two years earlier"? Well it was. At the beginning, Tony got a bomb in the face, rescuing a friend who was horsing around.

TWO YEARS LATER...



Tony is recuperating in hospital, and remaining optimistic about getting his sight back.

Tony gets the news that it's permanent.



After that, things are pretty bleak. He attempts to cope...



Gets angry when that fails...



And finally gives up.



And that is when Maria comes to see him (he's refused to contact her since the accident). She stays silent, because she realises she can't cope.

Oh, Maria. Oh, Tony.

The suffering bits in this really weren't that fun to watch, I'd say. I enjoyed, if that's the right word, the suffering in 'Abyss', for example - but this movie mostly made me wince and wish they'd toned it down a little.

But the rest of it is very sweet. :D
