Alert: possible hitchhiking trojan . . .
Mar. 13th, 2010 12:10 pmWith apologies to the people who had commented on today's post: according to my computer AV, there was a Trojan somehow associated with the post, which attempted to execute when the cut was viewed. I have no idea how this could happen, or if in fact it was a genuine threat rather than my AV being paranoid. But I won't risk a threat to other people's computers.
I've deleted the post and re-posted, and my AV is not freaking out over the re-post.
I'd encourage everyone who viewed the earlier post to run an anti-virus scan of their machines, just in case.
And I'd be very grateful if the commenters would be willing to re-comment!
ETA: I've been digging into the alarum, and I'm reasonably certain that it's a false alarm caused by my AV settings being set on Paranoia. My own system scanned clean. I will update again when I know more.
Once again, I'd entreat everyone whose comments were lost when I deleted the "Hellfire" post (aka Mac Gets a Bath) to please re-comment!

I don't think my virus protection can help get rid of it. *lol*
