Hi, New to this "RDA" community.

But, As the subject header says "Can anyone help me"....

I have an episode (or the reminisce of one in my head) and was wondering if anyone could help me as it is driving my brain a little barmy.

In my youth - my mother used to tape shows off the television (to watch later, as we all did and still do I'm sure). Anyway, I'm not sure what ever happened to the tape but this particular time the show was an episode of MacGyver - it became a favourite of my younger brother's he used to watch it all the time... I would not be surprised if it wore out from over use.

But the dilemma I have is that I can only remember "tiny" parts of it and was wondering if anyone could piece it together and let me know what it was called and which season it's from... (I'd so like to watch this episode again just to see if it brings me the same feels now as it did then, I really should watch them all - but time does not permit it in my busy life at present and I'd have to be in the mode).

Anyhow, The episode in question was the one in which MacGyver was visiting (or staying) on the outskirts of an amish township (or the township of the nearby community) and their were two young children a boy and a girl (one was amish the other not) they use to play together although "they were not suppose to" - the vacant land between their two communities (or close to them where they played) - was an old mining area with lots of mine shafts. The little girl whose name I believe was Kristy (as my brother always wanted to watch "Fristy" - at first we did not realise what he wanted, but after a while it became know by all members of my household as the "Fristy - Magyver" episode). Anyway, the storyline has it that Kristy falls done a well/mineshaft and as much as everyone wants to help and/or not help (as they don't want to talk/work between the communities and as much as MacGyver really wants to come to the rescue as he always does) - The earth/land around the mine is not safe for the "heavy" adults to be walking on or around... it turns out The boy helps save the day. Sorry, if I gave the crunch lines away to anyone that hasn't seen it or hasn't seen it recently.

Can anyone find out which ep this is, or at least guide me to somewhere I can find out myself (without having to wade through 5000 bits of "crap" in a Net search. If it helps but it probably doesn't my brother wasn't born till Oct. 86 and we lived in a Country town, NSW Australia at the time so the release dates for airing would have been somewhat different.

Really hoping someone can at least make some sense of what I just wrote, Hope someone can stop my crazy brain... and Thanking you if you took the time to read this for your time in advance.

That ep was "The Outsiders", aired 28 November 1988.

You can also check at the RDAnderson site (http://www.rdanderson.com/macgyver/episode/episode1.htm).

Cheers!

Other folks have already answered your question, so I'll just add an invitation to join [livejournal.com profile] macgyverland which is a great place to ask questions like this and share your enjoyment of the show with fellow fans.

I spend a lot of time at rdanderson.com and macgyveronline.com. The former is a wonderful resourse of information, with periodic messages from Rick himself, and the latter is a fun place to hang out and talk about Mac 24/7.
