he has the most beautiful hair ever, in these films. The Brit acting can be a bit naff in places, but there are some popular TV actors in them, the police chief in Trail to Doomsday is currently in New Tricks, for example... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006t0qx
For sheer droolage the Mac movies are a must see. In terms of actual story, I thought Journey to Atlantis was just lame and I have not seen it in ages. Trail to Doomsday is much darker and more plausbile. A whole lot of whumped Mac and Rick giving a very nice performance as his character struggles to unravel the mystery.
I know there were some complaints that the Mac movies were shot in Britian. Personally, I have no issue with it. It was nice to see different people interacting with Rick and vice versa. Shake's things up a bit and harkens back to the early Mac years in terms of story, especially in TtD.
oh, i loved that they were shot here. They didnt get the best actors, though, sadly.
That bird in Doomsday was *dreadful* - the supposed KGB one? Her accent seemed very... deliberately RP, very slowly (and annoyingly) spoken and her acting tedious.
That said, the fella they got to play Paul was terrific, and of course i ALWAYS love Brian Blessed in the other one - he brings such personality, such intensity, to any role he plays, even Doctor Who (King Yrcanos) or Vultan in Flash Gordon!
I've seen this movie at least a dozen times and it took me more than once to even realize that was Rick speaking. Somehow I missed it. I agree, it was hilarious.
