Date: 2004-10-04 09:01 pm (UTC)Dude. Because he's color-blind. But he doesn't usually make such egregious mistakes. You'd think somebody would have been honest with him about that sweater. Although, I know I heard him comment at some point that he *likes* orange because he can *see* it. Kind of. (I think that calling that sweater "orange" is a stretch, but hey...) Although, how does he know that he can see it? Or, how does he know that what he sees when he looks at something orange is what the rest of us see? I've always wondered that about color-blind people. Well, apparently, whatever it is he sees when he looks at this color makes him happy. Which is a bit freaky and disconcerting, but hey, there you go.

Date: 2004-10-05 06:58 am (UTC)There was a recent comment from Chris Judge that for civvies-wear for Teal'c, the wardrobe person took him out shopping with her. Presumably, to try things on him, but it also sounded from his comments like he got a bit of input into what was chosen. But he's also made comments that some of the wacky stuff they've chosen for Teal'c has been on the wacky side on purpose, so it's not exactly "Chris Judge daywear".
I'm also remembering that in the RDA video diary, there's a bit at the end where he's sitting in his trailer in street clothes (which are not a costume for any ep that he was shooting around that time, since the video diary was made during the shooting of "Paradise Lost"), and I'm 95% certain that the blue shirt he's wearing is the same one that he wore as Jack at the end of "Absolute Power". Either that, or it's awfully similar, and gives evidence at least that stuff he wears as civvies for Jack is about the same as stuff that RDA chooses to wear anyway.
I kind of have to believe that, just because -- he went through that period where he was wearing all those extremely soupy shirts and cargo pants ("Chain Reaction", "Absolute Power", etc.), and I can't imagine the wardrobe person, given free rein, *choosing* to dress him in stuff that looked 2 sizes too big. Similarly, with this sweater -- I can forgive it, if I pretend that it was due to an unfortunate genetic defect that's out of his control. :)

Date: 2004-10-05 07:04 am (UTC)And if there was a wardrobe person who liked the idea of Jack wearing baggy clothes where you can't see his body definition clearly, well, then I'm going back to my original point that they should be fired!
